I was honored to be a guest last week on the "Success Made to Last Podcast," with host Rick Tocquigny, who asked some seriously probing questions.
What's up with the puzzle?
In the interview, I mentioned what I shared with you last week. That after writing 1,086 home and lifestyle columns for newspapers coast to coast (and this blog), I was ending my weekly column. The week after I wrote my farewell column, my husband and I busted out a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle. (We rage over here.) I looked at all the pieces (pictured below) and thought, "I've written one column for each one of them, plus 86 more." That put my seemingly nebulous efforts into a tangible perspective.

As the pieces started coming together I realized that each piece had a role in a bigger picture. We don't always see what our efforts amount to, but they are all part of a bigger picture. Hope you enjoy the podcast.
